Bio: I’m fascinated by the ways our environment is integrated into our biology throughout life. I received my B.S. in Biology at Cal Poly SLO where I studied temperature effects on the reproductive endocrinology of a small, estuarine fish, the sheepshead minnow, in the lab of Dr. Sean Lema. I went on to receive my PhD in Ecology at UGA in the lab of Dr. Ben Parrott studying temperature-dependent sex determination in alligators. Before joining the faculty at OSU, I pursued post-doctoral training with Drs. Ben Parrott and Gavin Naylor at Univ. of Florida, as well as with Drs. Anne Bronikowski and Fred Janzen at Michigan State Univ.

Post-baccalaureate researcher
Bio: Kayla received her B.S. in Zoology from Michigan State University in 2025 where she assisted with research projects investigating behavioral variation in hyenas and turtles. She served as a research assistant in the Bronikowski Lab before joining the Bock Lab. At OSU, Kayla serves in a lab manager role. In the future, Kayla intends to pursue graduate school to study behavioral ecology.
